The source of the silence turns out to be a derelict station, drifting dark at the edge of the dead cluster. Lyra-7 leads the way in, her star-map arm the only reliable guide through corridors where every system is failing at once.
Aboard, they meet Vela — a four-armed Grid scientist who knows more than almost anyone alive, and is deeply unsettled by how much she still doesn't understand. She starts decoding what's actually killing this part of the Grid. Then Zix reappears — older, calmer, but unmistakably Zix — with a warning that changes everything: this isn't decay. Something is doing this on purpose.
